For example, in English, the verb <em>to work<\/em> may appear as <em>work<\/em>, <em>worked<\/em>, <em>works<\/em>, <em>working<\/em>. In German, French, Russian and other languages there are typically even more forms (in German for <em>work<\/em>: <em>arbeiten<\/em>, <em>arbeitete<\/em>, <em>arbeitetest<\/em>, <em>arbeiteten<\/em>, <em>arbeite<\/em>, <em>arbeitest<\/em>, <em>gearbeitet<\/em>, etc.) \u00a0The basic form, <em>work<\/em>, is called the lemma of the word.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Lemmatization supports standardized access to texts, sentences and words and is very helpful to detect keywords in search processes and to configure intelligent interfaces to knowledge sources etc.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The Lingenio lemmatizer translates the sentences of a text into lists consisting of the basic forms of the words in the text.
