Duden Explanations

The intelligent PC dictionary translateDict™ 4 offers Duden explanations with information on pronunciation and hyphenation as well as complete definitions for the German dictionary entries. translateDict™ 4 enhances even further the quality of your translation. You can therefore easily retrieve translations both in Windows applications and in the target text. translateDict™ 4 allows a context sensitive analysis by back translating the results returned by translate.

Learn from New Translations and Sentence Archives

The renowed technology AutoLearn<word> searches through the edited translation as well as entire sentence archives (translation memories – TM) for new uses of words that are then presented in an overview as suggestions for new dictionary entries. New dictionary entries are presented clearly-arranged, they can be adopted automatically or after editing to your user dictionary. In this manner, the system utilises its translation knowledge to improve considerably the correct use of word translations.

Save and Reuse Translations

Translations can be saved in a sentence archive (translation memory) in order to reuse them. This way a sentence never has to be translated twice! In order to get a quick estimate of how much post-processing will be necessary for translations taken from the sentence archive, statistics are available in the Translate Assistant™. Statistics offer information on the degree of similarity of a text with the sentences in the sentence archive (match percentage). Decide how similar sentence pairs have to be to be taken from the sentence archive (60-100%) and whether to highlight them by colors.

Translation of PDF Documents

Among Word documents (.doc and .docx) and files in .rtf and .txt format you can also open PDF documents in the translation center of translate 12.1 and let them be translated. Thereby all setting options are available.

Selection Dialog for the Optimal Translation Variants

The new TranSelect®-technology is a flexible tool for selecting from the alternatives the translation best suited to the context. TranslateContext™ utilises its context knowledge to present you with suitable alternative translations for words. The grammatical relationships are corrected automatically. The word translations you select can be easily adopted for the current sentence or the whole text.

In this manner you can not only add any amount of data to the integrated system dictionary, but update and manage every detail of your terminology. The new Sentence Archive Browser offers an improved and simplified management of your sentence archives and translation memories. With the new Sentence Archive Browser all sentence pairs can be displayed. First, all sentence pairs from your active archive will be displayed and then all sentence pairs from your passive archive.
